Responsibilities

The positions on this role are responsible for monitoring/design/planning and/or support drilling/well operations. Based on their experience in multiple complex environments, leads these processes on conventional and/ or complex wells and will take part in tender responses related to these projects. Responsible for development of well programs, operating procedures, presentations, end-of-well reports and other documentation as required. These positions could work closely with several disciplines involved into the well construction process, inside and outside of Weatherford. Their specific responsibilities will be different depending on their Product Line and/or assignation. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties (not listed in any particular order) 

  • Responsible for effective DS well evaluation and feasibility studies, the implementation of DS projects, and the application of DS solutions in the projects he/she leads. 
  • Provides technical support and training to the DS Engineering team to deliver the safest and most efficient plans to drill a well meeting all expectations. 
  • Involved with the design, planning, and the post drilling analysis of conventional and complex wells. He/she follows the Drilling Engineering process and provides real time decision support to Drilling Services Engineers (Operations, Sales, Management, etc) and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Petroleum, Drilling or Geology is preferred 
  • Min 3 years of Directional Drilling experience
  • Min 4 years of Drilling Engineering experience 
  • Fluent with well design terminology and methods
  • Advanced knowledge of Drilling terminology
  • Proficient in anti-collision and well trajectory analysis
  • Advanced torque & drag, vibration, and hydraulics analysis knowledge
  • Solid knowledge about different forms of vibration encountered while drilling
  • Solid knowledge of Directional Drilling practices
  • Ability to use multiple sources of data to formulate, test, and verify failure modes in drilling equipment
  • Familiar with Drilling Engineering risk analysis techniques
  • Ability to work closely with customers and fellow employees
  • Strong computer skills, MS Project, Visio, Office etc.
  • Strong experience in Oil and Gas Software
  • Good presentation skills 
  • English – intermediate
