Responsibilities

Weatherford have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join the team in Kuwait.  The Quality Manager provides leadership for the Kuwait quality function to ensure quality.  The Quality Manager role is responsible for collaborating with the Geozone manager and country team, the Product Lines, and the Service Delivery function to guide our overall Quality efforts.  The role provides leadership for quality activities related to ISO and API certifications, owns the consolidated audit plan, ensures the Quality program is executed to deliver optimum service to the customer, provides Quality support and leadership for the customer, and strives to continually improve the performance of the quality program through implementing root cause analyses and other continuous improvement techniques.

 

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

  • Follows all safety and compliance procedures; maintains compliance and safety as first priorities when working across all areas of the business.
  • In case of concerns with safety, quality non-conformances, or integrity concerns, exercise‘ Stop Work Authority to suspend operations.
  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with company policies, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices in the applicable country.
  • Ensure controls are in place to guarantee compliance with government regulations in relation to the quality.

OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY

  • Ensure that the Quality Management System is understood, followed, measured, and communicated regularly.
  • Maintain API and ISO certifications; coordinate with HSE and other functions where applicable.
  • Act as the senior management representative for the Quality Management System.
  • Collaborates with functions and product lines and the global Quality team to ensure the procedures in the Quality Management System reflect current processes.
  • Own and develop the consolidated risk-based audit plan incorporating ISO and API internal and external audits, customer audits, and product line audits.
  • Conduct annual (at a minimum) Quality Management reviews inclusive of all relevant functions at the country level as well as for each relevant ISO/API certification area.
  • Lead the investigation team for post-service quality events and ensures compliance with RCA and incident closure with the client; ensures Root cause analyses are resources adequately, root causes are defined, and corrective/containment/preventative actions are identified and addressed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure audit findings, CPAR actions, and non-conformances are reviewed and analyzed to address corrective and preventative actions in an effective and timely manner.
  • Develops, communicates, and monitors quality measures / KPIs.
  • Coordinate with functional and site leaders to establish quality goals, monitor progress, and ensure a consistent quality message and approach.
  • Holds country cross-functional leaders accountable to drive quality objectives through their organizations.
  • Maintains an attitude conducive to progress through positive change, continuous improvement, and an active contribution to teamwork concepts.
  • Coordinates with the Supplier Quality team and Sourcing to ensure suppliers are appropriately qualified.
  • Identify resources to assist in audits and root cause analyses; ensure they are trained and competent to complete audits and/or facilitate root cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with Product Lines to ensure all calibrations are done in a timely manner.
  • Act as central contact with the customer regarding country quality concerns.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling on-time completion of quality activities within budget.
  • Execute other quality tasks as requested by the country head or the Geozone Quality Manager.

CLIENT COMMUNICATION

  • Interacts with both internal and external customers with regard to quality on behalf of Weatherford.
  • Interacts closely with product lines and functions to effectively execute the quality program, understand and address specific quality issues, and identify improvements to the program.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

  • Hires, trains, and develops quality personnel on the Quality program and tools.
  • Ensures quality personnel are professionally developing and competent for their role.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • 10+ years experience in ISO 9001 and API Q2 environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a Quality organization.
  • Proven experience in an ISO and API-compliant quality management system.
  • Proven experience in quality auditing and managing external and internal audits.
  • Demonstrated abilities related to problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, leadership, and team-oriented skills in order to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven root cause analysis skills including cross-functional facilitation ability.
  • Clear understanding of corrective, containment, and preventative actions.
  • Proven experience in verifying the effectiveness of audit and RCA actions.
  • Oilfield services operational and technical experience (upstream).
  • Root Cause Analysis Incident Investigation Training.
  • Ability to make presentations to multi-disciplined groups (including internal and external), run effective workshops, and produce reports/documentation.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written – to liaise with quality and cross-functional counterparts to address quality-related matters.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to evoke critical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and third-party auditors.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently.

PREFERRED:

  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
  • Weatherford enterprise and management systems knowledge preferable.
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certified.
  • Experience using JD Edwards,
  • Experience using Oracle.
  • Experience in Quality tools (fishbone, 5whys) for root cause analyses.
  • Experience leading in a matrixed organization.
