Responsibilities

Weatherford is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Edmonton manufacturing facility. This facility primarily manufactures progressive cavity pumps and continuous rods.  This is a hands’ on, rewarding role producing quality and efficient products and tools for the oil and gas industry. The Manufacturing Engineer will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment.   • Comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Support and assist in the improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
  • Performs time studies, process flow maps, and other cycle time related functions.
  • Identifies new technologies available to improve current processes.
  • Performs standard cost evaluations and adjusts standard costs to capture improvements to manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate efforts associated with planning, procuring, installing and qualifying new manufacturing processes.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Lead/own CPARs(corrective and preventative actions), MOCs (Management of Change) to resolve production and customer issues
  • Enter, maintain all part numbers, BOM’s, mfg. routers, and work orders, in JDE software and assist with performing annual cost rolls to support manufacturing production.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional terms.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
  • Maintain clean and safe environment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Diverse knowledge of manufacturing processes and products.
  • Must have Current/Recent Continuous Improvement Experience

Preferred

  • Experience with machining processes preferred.
  • Experience with statistical tools preferred.
  • Experience in CAD/CREO, ERP, Power BI software preferred.
  • Designated Professional Engineer in Alberta preferred
