Responsibilities

Dismantle and reassemble drilling motors and jars in a timely and efficient manner while following closely controlled procedures; Ensure that all components and processes are up to or exceed Weatherford specifications.

Follow established safety guidelines and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE);

Identify hazards in the shop and bring them to management’s attention

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  (not listed in any particular order) 

  • Disassembly of the motor / jar assembly and internal parts
  • Removal of all grease plugs and oil seals to allow for cleaning and inspection
  • Cleaning all mud motor / jar parts inside and out after a motor / jar has been disassembled
  • Visually inspecting all parts for obvious wear and non-conformances.
  • Determining when and where more detailed inspection is needed
  • Re-assembly and subsequent testing of fully assembled mud motor / jar
  • Shop Clean-up
  • Interaction and communication with co-workers to maintain team continuity and safe working conditions
  • Interaction and communication with Inspection personnel to keep them informed as to what needs inspection and when
  • Interaction and communication with Lead hands to stay abreast of customer needs.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Self-starter working with limited supervision
  • Strong safety leadership
  • Ability to interact and perform successfully within a team environment
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times to all internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate initiative to learn and develop new skills
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Must be willing to take call and work overtime
  • Grade 12 designation
