Responsibilities

. 

The Category Sourcing Lead - Domestic is responsible to execute long-term sourcing strategies for Categories and sub-categories in close collaboration with the stakeholders in line with the group and businesses strategies.. This role is to enhance value and negotiates the contracts and agreements for the Goods and Services required at multiple locations within Geozones, Regions and or Global, to reduce TCO, cycle time and improve quality. The role will report to the Category Manager – Logistics. Duties & Responsibilities. 

 

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE 

  • Maintainssafety and service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business 
  • Maintainsthe highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices 
  • Ensuresto effectively use and oversee the appropriate procurement contract templates in accordance with Global Supply Chain Legal requirements to drive the best value and service, while ensuring business continuity is delivered at the highest level of quality 

 

OPERATIONAL CAPABILTY 

  • Perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation and determine the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportationfor Domestic Logistics freight movements to drive strategy with an intimate knowledge of the supply market, key dynamics and latest drivers  
  • Developingand implementing sourcing plans with established milestones and anticipated completion dates and ongoing supplier performance management 
  • Conductingrisk analysis associated with the development and deployment of outlined multi-year strategies 
  • Executeprocess methodologies for documenting and archiving business requirements that the regional/local teams can execute on 
  • Preparingand participating on bid events, qualifying, approving, negotiating contracts on the selection of new supply and service contracts terms that deliver value and mitigate risk to the company 
  • Assist in establishing processes and procedures to improve the use and efficiency of distributing products and materials 
  • Assist and support strategic programs such as reducing the carrier pool, improving routing techniques, consolidating vendor/customer shipments, contract administration and corporate wide compliance Review documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are in accordance with mode of transportation and destination of shipment 
  • Work with other departmentsto minimize freight cost and maximize delivery performance by establishing appropriate internal, supplier, and customer freight patterns  
  • Maintainperformance metrics of carrier delivery performance.  
  • Work with internal customersto ensure all freight related complaints are resolved and communicated to the carriers and internal users  
  • Prepare monthly, quarterlyand annual summaries of results, accomplishments and future plans  
  • Maintain current knowledge of transportation industry concepts and trends Identify strategic threats and opportunities arising from regulatory and operating issues that are developing in the industry Initiate appropriate action to maintain compliance and identify and apply emerging strategies that will strengthen the company’s competitive position
  • Supportsrelationship management strategies by which suppliers are evaluated, selected and managed in accordance with established guidelines and best practices 
  • Conduct monthly or quarterly business review with the Top tiers1 suppliers  
  • Developsbalanced supplier score cards and report on key supplier performance metrics, conduct benchmarking studies and track contract utilization, service delivery, and service level agreement 
  • Establishes, managesand maintains a strong and consistent supplier pipeline through strategic alliances, long term partnerships while ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to assess supplier quality and capability  
  • Ensureskey stakeholders are fully engaged and buy-into the supplier’s engagement strategy 
  • Communicates timely, clearand concise information and recommendations related categories  
  • Ensures safe and efficient utilization of company systems, tools and spreadsheets/reports and agreements
  • Establishes a culture of continuous improvement to define the function’s best-in-class status 

 

CLIENT COMMUNICATION 

  • Close collaboration with the stakeholders 
  • Drive efforts to understand internal stakeholdersneeds and summarize business requirements as inputs into the Global-wide category strategy and supplier market  
  • Maintainsand manages supplier relationships on a Global scale 
  • Ensure alignment and communication within the Product Linesand Supply Chain network to create a “Stakeholders-focused” environment 
  • Apply “account management” skills and behaviours todrive sustainable growth and Profitability 

 

FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE 

  • Identifies fact basedopportunities and implements actions to continually reduce Total cost of ownership, meet demand requirements and to generate savings and benefits to the business that requires alignment with Sr. Category Management and Business Product Line’s  
  • Interfaces with Procurement personnel to ensure the entire contract and agreement is fully implemented and seamlessly at the Global/Regionslevel    

 

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT 

  • Subject Matter expert to influence andassist with business decisions  
  • Undertakes necessary trainingsto enhance process excellence and the ability to improve overall performance 
  • Provides onboarding and training support, mentoring and development of team members
  • Supports the performance management program and quarterly conversations

 

VISION & LEADERSHIP 

  • Partner withthe global and regional Product Lines and Operations leadership teams to support category strategies and performance improvement plans within the Category Management and Sourcing functions 
  • Identify process problems and concerns and make recommendations for innovative solutions and corrective actions to achieve desirable results, help the company better manage cost on supplies and supplier services.

Qualifications

Experience & Education 

 

REQUIRED 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline 
  • Legally authorized to work 
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in general sourcing, strategic sourcing, outsourcing, supply chain management or similar experience
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools and methodlogies
  • Experience in negotiating both domestic and international agreements  
  • Demonstrated track record for closed collaboration with stakeholders and delivering significant and measurable savings in a large, complex and fast-moving organization 
  • Ability to interact in English and potentially other language relevant in local hub
  • Intermediate Excel user and proficient in MS Office suite

 

PREFFERED 

  • Master Degree in Business Administration(MBA) or Master degree  
  • 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management or similar experience 
  • 10+ years involved in Supplier Relationship Management
  • Experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions
  • Supply Market expertise in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Certified Purchasing Professional CPP,CIPS, CSPC or CPM
  • Advanced Excel user
